The Local Recovery Fund is available in 51 Employment Regions (regions).

The Local Recovery Fund supports locally driven activities that:

  • meet priorities identified in the region’s Local Jobs Plan
  • are tailored to the opportunities and needs identified in the region
  • address employment and training priorities; and
  • skill individuals to meet local employer demand.

Local Recovery Fund activities are usually sought via a Request for Proposal procurement process. If you are interested in developing a Local Recovery Fund proposal, contact your local Employment Facilitator.

The activity will provide pre- and post-employment support to Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) participants from the Western Melbourne Employment Region (and their families) to relocate to Ararat within the Wimmera Mallee Employment Region to fill shortages in local industries. Support will include • language supports • industry training and connecting participants to employers • community integration support • culturally safe settlement. • assistance in sourcing appropriate housing, council services, schools, health services and to develop community connections

Breaking Barriers: CALD Women's Soft Skills Program in Bendigo

The activity involves support for participants from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) and refugee backgrounds to build employment skills and labour market knowledge. Links with local businesses will be enabled through Employer partnerships to develop inclusive recruitment processes and supportive workplaces. Locally available employment services and supports will also be promoted to schools and CALD groups to increase community connections across the region.

Horticulture Learner Employment Pathway Program

The activity will deliver horticulture industry training and will comprise of 60 hours of pre-accredited classroom teachings in key competencies and on-site work experience to develop key employbility skills. On completion, participants will receive cetificate listing competencies and be invited to job interviews for positions and/or be referred to vacancies with the activity's industry partners.
