The Local Recovery Fund is available in 51 Employment Regions (regions).

The Local Recovery Fund supports locally driven activities that:

  • meet priorities identified in the region’s Local Jobs Plan
  • are tailored to the opportunities and needs identified in the region
  • address employment and training priorities; and
  • skill individuals to meet local employer demand.

Local Recovery Fund activities are usually sought via a Request for Proposal procurement process. If you are interested in developing a Local Recovery Fund proposal, contact your local Employment Facilitator.

The Youth Employment, Mentoring & Upskilling Program (YEMUS)

Women In Transport

This activity included a program of employer forums delivered by Crest NT in Darwin and Alice Springs. Mentoring and support was provided to employers looking to take on job seekers, leading to a group recruitment drive in Darwin and Alice Springs that supported job seekers into work placements.

Innovative Finishing School

The activity delivered a training program aimed to reskill and upskill participants from a culturally and linguistically diverse background for entry level jobs in retail, hospitality, small and medium business, and health and community services. The project was also work with local employers with vacancies to ensure training is suitable to their needs.

Skilling Young People for Work Pathway

Designed as entry level work preparation, the course provided the opportunity for young people to build skills and explore the diversity of roles on offer in growth industries. With the opportunity for career exploration with hiring employers. The activity was designed to provide employability, technical and industry transferable skills.

Transport & Mentoring Services – Pre employment Program Civil Construction

The activity provided transport and cultural liaison services to participants during their engagement with the civil construction pre-employment program. Participants were offered a Certificate III in Civil Construction over a 10-week pre-employment program gaining skills in communications, occupational health and safety, operation of plant equipment, measurements and calculations, manual handling, and undertaking interviews with prospective employers.

Ventia Employment Program for Indigenous Territorians in Hospitality services

Assisting Women into the Workforce

Support includes, job search skills, resume preparation, upskilling and reskilling, interview preparation and techniques, and facilitated access to industry and employer events.

Aviation Trades Assistant Speciality Course

The activity involves a four-week Aviation Trades Assistant foundation skills training course delivered for up to 15 local Youth, Indigenous, Mature Age, People with Disability and Long-Term Unemployed participants. The course will run 5 days per week over four weeks and support participants prepare for Industry Trades Assistants roles in the region.
