Mostafa Abedinpour is an inventor and innovator, and the owner of a successful small business, MAZ3D.

After immigrating to Australia from Iran, where he had completed a degree in computer hardware, Mostafa worked as a painter/decorator and also found work in an electronics repair business.

In his spare time Mostafa experimented and developed an innovative new 3D epoxy floor coat that is waterproof, affordable and extremely durable.

Mostafa also invented an innovative ‘stretch ceiling’ technology where high-resolution images are printed directly onto ceilings. The images are illuminated by special lighting which can be completely customized to the customers’ specifications.

Even though he knew he had great products, Mostafa lacked the confidence to start his own business. However, after working with his local NEIS, Mostafa was able to develop a business plan and open his business ‘MAZ3D’ at the end of 2018. MAZ3D installs epoxy floor coatings and stretch ceilings in domestic and commercial premises.

The first few months of operating were challenging, but once Mostafa began to market his products to local builders and architects, business began to pick up. He has now hired an employee and is considering opening his own showroom.

“I will never forget the encouragement I received from my NEIS mentor” Mostafa said.

Mostafa’s business has continued to operate through COVID-19, and is still going from strength to strength. You can follow his look at his latest projects by following him on Instagram.
