The Local Recovery Fund is available in 51 Employment Regions (regions).

The Local Recovery Fund supports locally driven activities that:

  • meet priorities identified in the region’s Local Jobs Plan
  • are tailored to the opportunities and needs identified in the region
  • address employment and training priorities; and
  • skill individuals to meet local employer demand.

Local Recovery Fund activities are usually sought via a Request for Proposal procurement process. If you are interested in developing a Local Recovery Fund proposal, contact your local Employment Facilitator.

Civil Construction Career Start Project

This activity involved a pre-employment program with entry pathways into civil construction and related industries. Participants were reskilled and upskilled into roles by way of life skills, work readiness training, work placements, formal training, mentoring and job placement support. The activity delivered pre-employment training to support participants into employment with civil construction employers in the Somerset Employment Region.

The activity involved a 3-week job readiness program to support participants into entry-level roles in the accommodation industry. The activity consisted of accredited skillset training and daily physical fitness.

Community Services Job Match Gateway Project

Cutting-Edge Timber Training

This activity involved a tailored pre-employment training program aimed at meeting employer needs and providing participants a start in the timber industry. The pre-employment program includes a Certificate II in Saw Milling, and familiarisation through placement in a paid work trial in timber mills in the Maryborough area. The training was designed to attract people to the timber industry.

Driving Work Program

This industry focused activity aimed to strengthen the pathway to employment for 50 young people by providing intense wrap around support for learners, provisional and machinery licences to complement the job preparation this cohort is already receiving and therefore significantly increasing their ability to gain apprenticeships, traineeships and entry level positions that are available and require licences as a pre-requisite.

Empowered: Driving Diversity and Inclusion in Supply Chain and Logistics
