Job description

Material controllers are responsible for the inbound and outbound freight and consignments at the Energy LogistiX (ELX) Freight Distribution Centre.

Tasks include:

  • processing incoming and outgoing freight
  • assisting with loading, load restraint, unloading and reviewing freight
  • providing accurate activity notes for shipping units
  • coordinating the handling and documentation for dangerous goods
  • maintaining the warehouse safety and compliance standards.

The employer is looking for people 18 years or older who:

  • can demonstrate their core values of safety, loyalty, integrity, trust, teamwork and commitment
  • are adaptable and flexible
  • work well under pressure
  • are willing and able to pass full medical screening including drug and alcohol testing.

People must be fit and healthy and able to:

  • stand for 8 hours+ each day
  • undertake manual tasks including chaining and throwing straps to secure loads
  • work in an environment that is not temperature controlled (e.g. hot conditions while wearing a long sleeve shirt and long pants).

  • Job shadowing and basic tasks under supervision in a warehouse environment supported by workplace buddies.
  • Mentoring to support your success during the project and when you commence in employment.

Accredited training (including workplace simulations):

  • TLID0015: Load and unload goods/cargo
  • TLID0020: Shift materials safely using manual handling methods
  • TLIF0009: Ensure the safety of transport activities (chain of responsibility)
