The Local Recovery Fund is available in 51 Employment Regions (regions).

The Local Recovery Fund supports locally driven activities that:

  • meet priorities identified in the region’s Local Jobs Plan
  • are tailored to the opportunities and needs identified in the region
  • address employment and training priorities; and
  • skill individuals to meet local employer demand.

Local Recovery Fund activities are usually sought via a Request for Proposal procurement process. If you are interested in developing a Local Recovery Fund proposal, contact your local Employment Facilitator.

Hospitality Employment Pathways Program

The activity involved the delivery of a six-week pre-employment and practical skills training course aligned to the meet the skill requirements of local hospitality employers. The activity prepared women from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds – including participants from recent migrant, asylum-seeker or refugee backgrounds – for roles in the hospitality sector and included practical work placements with local hospitality businesses.

Local Partnerships, Local Pathways

Glen Park Community Centre Inc

This activity involved tailored individual development pathways aimed at a local need for entry level positions in cleaning, hospitality, guest services, maintenance and security. The activity was delivered over 10 weeks and supported a range of participants from disadvantaged backgrounds. Pre-accredited training included communication skills for work and community, pre-employment preparation and planning and job readiness skills. Accredited training was available where it met specific employment requirements.

The activity involved the delivery of a pre-vocational and work readiness training program for 25 mature age participants. The activity was built upon the essential prerequisite skills necessary for employment within the Health and Community sector including employment skills training, mentor coaching, access to employers and post placement support. The activity supported participants into paid employment or vocational training upon completion of training.

This activity included a mentoring and training pathway project supporting young people, women impacted by domestic violence, and participants from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. The program aimed to upskill participants, supporting them to better meet the needs of local employers.

Moorabool Jobs Program

The activity involved the delivery of intensive pre-employment training, mentoring and work experience placements. The activity also included a Careers Expo to connect participants with employers and showcase local employment opportunities. The activity supported youth, female, culturally and linguistically diverse, refugee and Indigenous participants and aimed to facilitate job placements.

Pathways to Construction

Participants completed a 3 week construction training program including job readiness. They were supported into placement at the Victorian Tunnelling Centre training facility to prepare for entry-level roles in the construction industry for major projects.

Pathways to Digital Health – Supporting Telehealth Delivery

The activity aimed to provide participants with the skills required to administer, coordinate, monitor and support the provision of telehealth services delivered by health professionals. The activity was designed to meet employer skill requirements for the growing demand for telehealth services in response to local community care needs and included the delivery of accredited units tailored to employer needs. Participants were provided with mentoring support and career guidance, including facilitated connections to job opportunities.
