Yes. Industry needs to be aware that training is only part of the solution. Industry engagement needs to start considering small business, enough of the TAFE "experts" who haven't worked in the field for years.

The SSO's are really out of touch and happy to use cut and paste into UoC's. The really effects the end users who are the student and the trainer. So much waste is the system, due to the fact that the UoC's contain a lot of "crap"

Are qualifications fit-for-purpose in meeting the needs of industry and learners now and into the future? Why/why not?
- Are the different needs of industry and learners effectively considered in designing qualifications in the current system? What works well and why?
- Are there issues or challenges with the way qualifications are currently designed? What are they and what could be done to address these?

Response:
No. Have a look at AHCLSC301 - it doesn't teach them 1/2 as much as RIICCM208 AHCMOM304 - an SSO has tinkered with it, meaning you have to see someone add oil. They won't let you do it to fuel, therefore all 2 stroke equipment is useless when it comes to assessment.

ensure there's some form of accountability with the SSO, currently as soon as it's released it's not their problem anymore
