Does the role of industry need to be strengthened or expanded across the VET system? Why/why not?
- What does industry engagement mean to you?
- How can industry be encouraged to connect with and use the VET system? What does this look like?
- Are there any roles for industry in the VET system that are not covered or outlined in the case for change?
-
Response:
Absolutely the role of Industry in needed and vital to the VET system. The Industry and Vocational Education should go hand and hand to support each other. The modern technologies are growing fast so this has to be continuously engaged into the communities and the new enrolled students. Teaching students online and not engaging them to the real world of activities to perform their task is a risk to the community, so I think the role of Industry needs to be strengthened or expand across the VET system.

What can be done to drive greater collaboration across industries to broaden career pathways for VET graduates and maximise the workforce available to employers?
- How can workers be equipped with skills that can be applied across different jobs?
- How can industry support this through the VET system?
- How can we break down silos and improve collaboration across industry groups?
-
Response:
We should let the Industry come into all RTO's not just the public or TAFE but also privately. We have been running our business as private Registered Training Organization for more than 10yrs, we always seek out all of our Industry supports by ourselves, our students always get hired or get sponsored by organizations that we affiliate with and not once have we ever been approached by any Industry. The workers should be equipped with more than one skilled job. We should support our strong youths to be equipped with more than one skilled, that way there wont be any skilled shortages.
Are qualifications fit-for-purpose in meeting the needs of industry and learners now and into the future? Why/why not?
- Are the different needs of industry and learners effectively considered in designing qualifications in the current system? What works well and why?
- Are there issues or challenges with the way qualifications are currently designed? What are they and what could be done to address these?
-
Response:
Qualifications should meet the Industry needs so the both has to work together now to equip and design what is best for the future. The designers should talk first and investigate what goes on in the Industry first before designing any qualifications. Some of this qualifications is more theory and no action or practical.
