Response:
My employer is the industry but in the past employment I have been with 2 other providers, 1 private & 1 Government the private RTO as in here, are very engaged with the industry the TAFE was somewhat disengaged slow to react and if it was left to upper management would fail. (too much filibustering for political gain by management.) Parts of the Industry are using trainees as cheap labour remove group apprentice employment agencies. They are setting apprentices up for failure as the apprentice is charged out at an inflated labour rate. with the selling point of the employer does not have to do any paperwork. This is a straight out lie the agency are reaping government incentives and inflating the hire rate. but forget to tell the employer that a government agency will do the major part of the work needed and the employer will get benefits. ensure the trainees and apprentice cohorts are exposed to a broad industry exposure to alow greater learning RTO must be equipped to an industry standard. RTO seeing the trainee every 6 weeks for a couple of hours does not provide any training and a lot of employers are not providing time or resources to the trainee.
