Australian Training Awards
The Australian Training Awards recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements in the VET sector.
The Awards commenced in 1994. In this time many individuals, businesses and registered training organisations have been rewarded for showcasing best practice in VET.

The Australian VET Alumni are a community of VET graduates, registered training organisations (RTOs), VET practitioners and businesses who are passionate advocates for VET.
VET Alumni are ambassadors for VET, and recognised for their training excellence.
VET ambassadors provide a collective voice on the benefits of VET, sharing real and relatable career success stories. They promote VET through live and online events, and feature in media and online publications.

The VET Information Strategy addresses misconceptions around VET and helps further understanding of the opportunities presented by VET. The tagline—real skills for real careers—unites the sector and invites a collaborative approach to informing the community about VET by stakeholders and corporate and community partners.
Collaboration with our partners is ongoing and we use events of national significance to create awareness of VET, such as:
- National Skills Week
- Supporting and Linking Tradeswomen (SALT)
- Careers with STEM magazine
- ABC’s HeyWire Regional Competition
- Today's Skills: Tomorrow's Leaders Program - National Apprentice Employment Network.
WorldSkills Australia
The Australian Government supports WorldSkills Australia to promote and build a skills culture, celebrate excellence and showcase VET. WorldSkills Australia runs skills competitions at regional, national and international levels, and the National Championship is Australia’s biggest vocational education and excellence competition.
WorldSkills AustraliaPartnership Grants program
The Partnership Grants program provided funding for organisations including employers, training providers, schools and community organisations to work together to improve career outcomes and create education and training pathways for Australians. The program concluded on 30 June 2023.
