Applications open for the Tertiary Access Payment

Did you finish Year 12 (or equivalent) in 2023? Have you or will you relocate from regional or remote Australia this year to study (Certificate IV and above)? You might be eligible for the Tertiary Access Payment (TAP).

The Tertiary Access Payment is a payment of up to $5,000 to help students pay for items such as rent, food or study supplies.

The payment helped Ronald when he relocated from Mildura to attend La Trobe University in Melbourne.

“It was my first time moving away from home which means I had to face some things like paying rent. I didn’t have enough savings when going into uni and I feel like it helped me a lot. I would highly encourage people to apply,” said Ronald.

The payment also supported Jordan to pay for his textbook and university accommodation.

“Applying for the TAP was really easy. If you're thinking about applying to the Tertiary Access Payment, do it - it costs nothing to apply,” said Jordan.

“By not applying you're missing out on an opportunity to get something that can really help you hit the ground running.”
