How Evie found her purpose thanks to Transition to Work

Transition to Work – How Evie overcame anxiety and found her purpose

Transition to Work provides free help to young people to gain practical skills for employment, education or training.

When Evie first met with her Transition to Work provider, she was only attending because her dad had made the appointment for her. Feeling nervous and unsure of what the program had to offer, she quickly discovered that the support offered could change her life.

Having just finished year 11 at school, 19-year-old Evie found herself struggling with confidence, financial pressures, anxiety and lack of career direction.

We met with Evie, her provider Justine and her employer Jo, to talk about her experience with Transition to Work and where she is at now thanks to the program.

Transition to Work is a Workforce Australia program that helps young people aged 15-24 years old into work (including apprenticeships and training) or education. Transition to Work participants receive intensive, pre-employment support to develop practical skills to get a job, connect with education or training, find local job opportunities and connect with relevant local community services.
