The Hon Andrew Giles MP, Minister for Skills and Training, has announced the appointment of 2 Jobs and Skills Australia Deputy Commissioners.
Both appointees are eminently qualified, knowledgeable and experienced to support the Commissioner to deliver JSA’s legislated functions by providing expert and independent advice.
Ms Megan Lilly will commence a three-year term on 9 September 2024. Ms Lilly has extensive experience in executive positions in industry groups and is currently the Executive Director – Centre for Education and Training at the Australian Industry Group. She has also served on several boards, skills councils and working groups making her well placed to undertake a role as Deputy Commissioner JSA.
Mr Trevor Gauld will commence a five-year term 14 October 2024, following a rigorous merit-based selection process. Mr Gauld has extensive experience as the National Assistant Secretary of the Electrical Trades Union and numerous Board Directorships and committee positions providing strategic advice on skills, training, worker entitlements, immigration and Australia’s trade agenda as well as detailed analysis of climate and clean energy policy.
