Eligible parents and carers can now access Parent Pathways, a voluntary, personalised and family-friendly service to help them plan their future.
Parents and carers of young children need choice, flexibility and support that aligns with their individual needs, while they look after their children. Parent Pathways is designed to provide that support, while helping parents and carers to achieve their future goals.
Parent Pathways providers are now operating across the country, with mentors empowering parents and carers to:
- identify their goals and how best to achieve them
- access other services in the local community, such as:
- family and domestic violence support
- community groups, such as playgroups, LGBTIQ+ groups or multicultural groups
- counselling or access to drug and alcohol services or other health services
- local charities such as foodbanks, housing, general welfare and support services
- undertake training courses, such as computer course or language and literacy course
- financial help, such as towards a computer or anything else that might help with study or work goals
- help to join or re-join the workforce.
