The Real Jobs, Real Wages initiative will invest $32.1 million to support people who are at risk of long-term unemployment into secure work.
About the pilot
The Real Jobs, Real Wages pilot will commence 1 July 2025 for two years. It aims to complement the broader employer offerings of Workforce Australia Services, to assist around 1,500 people.
Real Jobs, Real Wages will help individuals to transition into secure work. It is also intended to support the capability of businesses when employing people with greater challenges to work.
Real Jobs, Real Wages features collaboration between employment services providers, the Australian Public Service and businesses.
- Collaboration with employers to foster inclusive, diverse workplaces. For example, by sharing recruitment and job design good practice, brokering financial support, and fostering understanding of the needs of individuals with challenges to employment.
- Collaboration with employment services providers to support businesses and individuals. This includes assisting with pre-placement support and brokering and streamlining employer financial support for wages and other related costs.
- Up to 12 months post placement support for individuals and employers to encourage sustainable employment.
Co-Design Consultations
The department committed to co-designing Real Jobs, Real Wages with employers, employer peaks, Workforce Australia Providers and employment services peak bodies.
