Students may have to take a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) assessment in order to meet student entry requirements. There are approved LLN assessment tools and advice for providers seeking approval of a verified and evaluated LLN assessment tool for specific provider use.

VSL Data Reporting
You are required to report data for all students studying in approved courses who are eligible to apply for a VET Student Loan. You must report student, course, campus, unit, enrolment and completions data for students through the reporting system, the Tertiary Collection of Student Information (TCSI). All VSL data reporting requirements and resources are available from the TCSI Support website.

Courses and loan caps
You may only offer a VET Student Loan for the diploma level or above courses that are listed on the VSL Determination and agreed on as a condition of your approval. The Determination is updated periodically, the most recent amendment comes into effect on 1 January 2025.

Ongoing financial requirements
You have ongoing financial performance requirements as a condition of your approval as well as an annual charge.

Changes to approval conditions or fee limits
You may submit a request for your conditions of approval to be varied or for fee limits to be increased at any time. You may also request approval of a third party arrangement.
Schedule 3 – Approved courses for specified providers
The Department runs an annual process to assess applications by eligible (listed and not-for-profit) approved VSL providers to include additional courses under Schedule 3 of the VET Student Loans (Courses and Loan Caps) Determination 2016. The 2024 Schedule 3 application round closed on 23 August 2024.
You can find courses currently approved under Schedule 3 at VET Student Loans (Courses and Loan Caps) Determination 2016, which was developed in consultation with state and territory governments and the VET sector.
