Local Jobs and Skills Taskforces play an important role in in the Local Jobs Program. Taskforces develop solutions to help more Australians connect with quality job opportunities, improve their skills, and assist employers to meet their workforce and skill needs.

A series of eLearning modules across four key streams - stakeholder engagement, communication fundamentals, teamwork and governance are available to support taskforce capability.

The eLearning modules take approximately 10-20 minutes to complete and incorporate interactive elements, activities, worksheets to complete and topic specific book and podcast recommendations.

Each module will open in a new window or tab, when you have completed the module, close the new window or tab to return to this list.

Introduction

Stakeholder engagement

These modules explore the fundamentals of stakeholder engagement. They provide a combination of information, strategies and practical exercises focussed on collaboration, inclusion, advocacy, and inspiring others.

You will explore co-design principles, approaches and strategies. Consider these approaches when engaging with your team, stakeholders, and your community.

This module will help you to unpack collaborative intelligence, understand your stakeholder thinking preferences and implement reflective practices to enhance your collaboration toolkit.

This module will help you to understand the importance of autonomy, mastery, and purpose when it comes to inspiring others. It explores the key ingredients of a compelling vision, assisting you to tap into emotions, encourage action and deepen others commitment to common goals.

This module will unpack the strategic triangle – considering the ‘Who’, the ‘Why’ and the ‘What/How’ – and explores how you can apply this concept to your work.

This module will explore how empowerment, inclusivity and collaboration come together to support advocacy activities. It will also provide you with the information and tools you need to develop your own advocacy action plan.

Communication fundamentals

These modules aim to broaden and support your understanding of communication. They provide a combination of information, strategies, and practical exercises covering a broad range of topics, including Asking the right questions, Understanding Stakeholder Perspectives and Building Rapport with Stakeholders.

You will also explore negotiation, biases, and emotional intelligence, adding to your communication toolkit.

 

Would you like to refine your listening skills and better understand the perspectives of others?

This module will explain the power of listening, and the differences between active and empathic listening. These techniques unpack how the power of listening, assists you in gaining perspective and deepen understanding and rapport.

Do you want to learn more about negotiation methods, principles, and tactics to increase your confidence in negotiations?

This module dives into the four principles of the Harvard Method of negotiation, as well as how to create a framework for negotiations. You will explore concepts, strategies, and skills to support your understanding and develop the skills to advocate for and negotiate suitable outcomes.

Teamwork

These modules explore teamwork concepts. They provide a combination of information, strategies, and practical exercises focussed on collaboration, flexibility, resilience and building a positive team culture.

You will also delve into understanding productive and action-oriented teams, positioning you to consider how you harness the skills and experience of your team.

By understanding mindsets and the steps to problem-solving, this module will support you to build your own adaptability and strengthen those around you. This module provides strategies to solve challenges more effectively and navigate ambiguous environments.

Governance

These modules aim to broaden and support your knowledge of governance principles. They provide a combination of information, strategies, and practical exercises covering a broad range of topics, including Conflict of Interest management and Ethical Decision Making.

You will also explore information management and the use of data in storytelling. Developing products that effectively combine data, visuals, and narratives.
