New Employment Services Trial (NEST) - Using the Employment Fund General Account

This Guideline outlines how to use the Employment Fund General Account (Employment Fund). The Employment Fund is a flexible pool of funds available to NEST Providers (Providers) to offer support tailored to the needs of Participants, employers and the local labour market. Each Provider receives credits they can use and then claim Reimbursement for the purchase of goods and services that genuinely support and assist Participants to gain the tools, and build the skills and experience they need to get and keep a job.

The Social Research Centre report summarises the 450 submissions that were lodged in response to the public consultation paper ‘The Next Generation of Employment Services 2020’ released in June 2018.

I Want To Work

This report sets out the Employment Services Expert Advisory Panel report 11 recommendations on the future of employment services. The Panel recommended service delivery to be grounded in digital and supported with face-to-face services for those who need them. They recommend a more user friendly and personalised new system built on trust that empowers users.

The next generation of employment services discussion paper

The discussion paper is provided as a historical record for interested stakeholders.

The discussion paper sets out key issues that were considered in the design of the (then) future employment services model. The Employment Services Expert Advisory Panel, national and international research, and user-centred design with users also informed this document.
