The Local Recovery Fund is available in 51 Employment Regions (regions).

The Local Recovery Fund supports locally driven activities that:

  • meet priorities identified in the region’s Local Jobs Plan
  • are tailored to the opportunities and needs identified in the region
  • address employment and training priorities; and
  • skill individuals to meet local employer demand.

Local Recovery Fund activities are usually sought via a Request for Proposal procurement process. If you are interested in developing a Local Recovery Fund proposal, contact your local Employment Facilitator.

Workfit Essentials Program

The activity was delivered to support Indigenous, mature age, and participants from culturally and linguistically diverse communities to undertake paid part-time work, training support, and on the job coaching in a commercial farming business and food processing facility over a 10-week period to learn about and connect with Agri-careers. Participants were required to work 1 day per week. The activity’s flexible nature allowed participants to try various job streams quickly around the one business over the 10-week period.

The activity delivered a structured 4-week pre-employment industry transition program to participants delivering soft skills, practical and accredited training for youth, long-term unemployed, mature aged, women, Indigenous & ex-offenders. This program was aimed at addressing the needs of staff in construction, manufacturing and processing industries in the region.
