The Local Recovery Fund is available in 51 Employment Regions (regions).

The Local Recovery Fund supports locally driven activities that:

  • meet priorities identified in the region’s Local Jobs Plan
  • are tailored to the opportunities and needs identified in the region
  • address employment and training priorities; and
  • skill individuals to meet local employer demand.

Local Recovery Fund activities are usually sought via a Request for Proposal procurement process. If you are interested in developing a Local Recovery Fund proposal, contact your local Employment Facilitator.

Western Sydney Women - Jobs for the Future

The activity will deliver employer-led job information sessions and job readiness training to 60 participants. It will also include one-on-one mentoring and development of a 12-month career plan with access to the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program for 20 participants.

BackTrack Works Transition Co-ordinator

The activity supported young people in Tenterfield to enter employment by employing a part-time Transition Coordinator who provided/organised training and employment assistance and support services based on individual transition plans. The activity expanded on the delivery of BackTrack Works existing youth support program and aimed to enable participants to enter employment.

Bartending Specialist Program

This activity involved delivery of a purpose-built program, housed on an established Virtual Intern platform, that aimed to transition job seekers, mainly aged 18-25 years, into high growth bartending/after dark and hospitality venues across the Hunter Employment Region.

Canberra Regional Food Collaborative (CRFC)

The activity trialled a program to fill agrifood jobs by working with disengaged youth. It aimed to create pathways to qualifications in hospitality and included development of cross-enterprise skills sets, six units of competency and associated tickets, mentoring and work ready training and placement.

Cumberland Jobs and Youth Expo 2023 – Trade Up to a Better Future

The Destination Muswellbrook Program was delivered to address structural and cultural challenges to increase the capabilities of those looking for work and support them entering employment in the manufacturing and construction sectors. The activity involved the use of allied health specialists, vocational assessments, training and skills development as well as mentoring and supported introductions between participants and local employers.
