Patrick’s story
At 56-years-old, Patrick was looking for a new future. Patrick was focused on caring for his grandson, and after not working in 17 years, he found job-seeking difficult.
“I didn’t have the confidence to do things, and I just thought I wouldn’t find a job,” Patrick said.
Patrick decided to turn to Workforce Australia for support.
With the help of his Workforce Australia Services Provider Asuria, Patrick gained access to career guidance and mentoring to improve his resume and computer literacy skills, as well as digital platforms to manage his mutual obligations and job search. He also received support with work-related goods and services, including new work clothes, a white card, and fuel to travel to and from work.
After receiving this help from Workforce Australia, Patrick found a job with Nunn’s Dairy as a delivery driver. Patrick loves working and driving through Victoria’s country towns and is thriving in a job where he feels valued.
