Encouraging Entrepreneurship and Self-Employment Initiative 2016–2019 Evaluation Report

This report contains the findings of an evaluation of the Encouraging Entrepreneurship and Self-Employment initiative 2016–2019.

The Initiative was aimed at encouraging young Australians to consider self-employment and included four components:

  • the appointment of Entrepreneurship Facilitators in three regions with high rates of youth unemployment
  • the expansion of New Business Assistance with NEIS to allow individuals not in employment, education or training who are not on income support to access the program, and additional spaces
  • the introduction of Exploring Being My Own Boss Workshops, which provide individuals with a taste of what is involved in self-employment and entrepreneurship
  • the introduction of the SelfStart Online Hub website.
