This evaluation report provides a comprehensive assessment of the operation of the jobactive program between its inception in July 2015 and December 2018.
jobactive was a ‘work first’ active labour market program with a primary focus on employment, and was designed to:
- ensure participants are job ready
- introduce stronger Mutual Obligation Requirements (MORs) to encourage a work-like culture for participants
- increase job outcomes
- reduce service prescription and
- minimise red tape for stakeholders.
The jobactive program ceased on 30 June 2022, and lessons learned through this evaluation informed the development of Workforce Australia Services, which replaced jobactive as the mainstream provider-led employment service from July 2022.
