Transition Advice issued about PALM scheme setting implementation timeframes

The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations issued Transition Advice No. 2 on Monday 26 June 2023 to approved employers with a SWP Deed and/or a PLS Deed. This follows Transition Advice No. 1, that was issued on Friday 2 June 2023. Transition Advice No. 2 provides information and detail on the phased implementation of new PALM scheme settings and the new IT system PALMIS training schedule. PALMIS roll-out

A new IT system, the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility Information System (PALMIS), launched on 24 July 2023 to provide consistent processes for approved employers who participate in the short-term and long-term streams of the PALM scheme. PALMIS is a new, consolidated IT system that will streamline the workflow between approved employers, labour sending units in participating countries and the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR).
