The former Department of Education, Skills and Employment released the Discussion Paper – Delivery of the SEE Program 2023, to inform the future delivery model for the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program.
Consultation with stakeholders followed in January and February 2022. Feedback was collected via online workshops and written submissions.
Feedback collected from this process is helping to inform the policy and program approaches for future Commonwealth supported foundation skills program delivery.
At the Jobs and Skills Summit in September 2022, the government committed to redesign foundation skills programs to support workers and vulnerable Australians to gain secure employment outcomes. The Minister for Skills and Training, the Hon Brendan O’Connor MP, announced the establishment of the Foundation Skills Advisory Group (FSAG). FSAG will work with the department to ensure foundation skills programs best serve adult learners, vocational education and training providers and employers.
