Workforce Australia Services Deed of Standing Offer 2022-2028 – Licence Review

On this page:

On 1 October 2024 the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations advised all Workforce Australia Services (WAS) Providers with Head Licences under the WAS Deed of Standing Offer that it will be conducting a Licence Review. On 11 October 2024, the department provided further details and sought information from Panel Members to support the Licence Review.

A Licence Review Committee, comprised of senior departmental staff, has been established to review all WAS licences and make recommendations to the Delegate. The recommendations available for the Review Committee to make will include the following, with the possibility for conditions to be attached to any licence extension:

  • a licence being extended to 30 June 2027;
  • a licence being extended to 30 June 2026; or
  • non-extension of a current licence (ceasing at 30 June 2025).

The outcomes of the Licence Review will determine if any existing Provider licences are to cease. The department will consider what is in the best interests of participants, risk factors and value for money when determining options to address any service gaps, including the offer of new Head Licences to Panel Members without a current licence.
