This activity provided intensive ‘wrap around’ support and pre-employment training to participants in the North West coast of Tasmania. The activity assisted participants to obtain work experience and placements with culturally safe workplaces including education and tailored post-placement support and input from their Employment Services Provider.

Care Industries Training to Employment Pathways provided accredited and non-accredited training to facilitate employment in the home care sector as a personal care attendant or domestic service worker, and supported new employees through targeted training of host organisation staff to support participant placements (‘Care to Lead’).

The activity specifically addressed participant frustration, anxiety and depression related to the job search process. It delivered a class-based education program to empower participants to increase knowledge of employment opportunities and the job search process, build networks with local employers and how to use and promote their existing skills in the employment market. It included development of an individual plan to maintain their mental health during their job search and early stages of employment; and to broaden their networks and meet local employers with employment opportunities.

This activity involved facilitating ongoing relationships and frameworks between jobactive providers and disability service providers to support the labour force needs of the disability service sector. This activity also aimed to increase awareness of, and access to, careers in the sector.

The activity created an Education and Care Sector Good Fit diagnostic tool to assist Employment Service Providers identify individuals receiving services from them who were likely to be a good fit for employment in the education and care sector.

A pre-employment program that provided employability skills development specific to the food manufacturing sector. Participants had the opportunity to job shadow, standard operating procedure training, with suitable participants being offered employment following completion.
From Care to Educate - Childcare Pre-Employment Program

A tailored pre-employment program was delivered for entry level roles within the childcare sector. The program involved training and mentoring supports with units of competency from the Certificate III Early Childhood Education and Care, including a First Aid competency and a Working with Vulnerable People card.
Games Fest - Digital Work is Real

The activity aimed to improve the job-readiness of participants, with a focus on young people who have an interest in online games. The project sought to improve the transferability of participant’s existing skills and connections to technology related industries in the region. It combined blocks of gaming industry themed experiential learning and work preparation training. The activity included two Employability Skills Training courses as well as events with local employers to maximise opportunities for employment, work experience and networking for participants.
