Voluntary Work

Voluntary Work placements are available to participants aged 15 years or over registered in Workforce Australia Services, Transition to Work, Parent Pathways or Disability Employment Services.

On this page:

Voluntary Work placements provide participants with the opportunity to develop vocational and non-vocational skills and obtain work experience that will directly improve their employment prospects, while at the same time benefiting the community organisations in which they are placed.

Voluntary Work placements can be hosted by a not-for-profit organisation/charity that provides a community service (including firefighter reserves, State Emergency Service, school canteen, etc.). A not-for-profit arm of a for-profit organisation may also be eligible.

Government sector agencies are considered to be not-for-profit organisations for the purpose of Voluntary Work.
