On 3 October 2017, Mr Matthew O'Callaghan, a former Senior Deputy President of the Fair Work Commission was engaged to undertake a review of the greenfields agreement provisions of the Fair Work Act 2009 which were the subject of legislative amendments in 2015.
The Greenfields Agreements Review is a statutory requirement of the Fair Work Amendment Act 2015 (Amendment Act). The Amendment Act provides that the Minister for Employment must cause an independent review of Part 5 of Schedule 1 of the Amendment Act to be undertaken and completed within two years of its commencement.
