The Government announced the specialist review into the operations of the Office of the Fair Work Ombudsman (FWO) in the 2023-24 Budget.

The review provided a suite of recommendations, identifying efficiencies and opportunities for savings that are consistent with the Budget announcement, as detailed in the Terms of Reference.

The review was conducted by an independent external consultant, KPMG, who were appointed by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations through a procurement process. KPMG's project team included Elizabeth Kelly PSM as the reviewer.

Final Report

The Final Report of the Review of the Office of the Fair Work Ombudsman was provided to the Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations on 12 December 2023.
