The Local Recovery Fund is available in 51 Employment Regions (regions).

The Local Recovery Fund supports locally driven activities that:

  • meet priorities identified in the region’s Local Jobs Plan
  • are tailored to the opportunities and needs identified in the region
  • address employment and training priorities; and
  • skill individuals to meet local employer demand.

Local Recovery Fund activities are usually sought via a Request for Proposal procurement process. If you are interested in developing a Local Recovery Fund proposal, contact your local Employment Facilitator.

Care Careers Project Fitzroy

The activity delivered an 8-week pre-employment program and provided participants with relevant life skill and individual support units, with practical exposure to workplace requirements and mentoring in the health care and social services sector. Participants were supported into entry-level roles in the region with disability and aged care agencies.

Catering and Hospitality Career Start Program

The activity involved providing training in Certificate II Kitchen Operations to up to 10 participants from an Indigenous or culturally and linguistically diverse background and assisted them with mentoring, online inductions, police checks and medicals to support them to secure employment in the hospitality sector.

Certificate III in Waste Management

Civil Construction Career Start Project

Community Services Job Match Gateway Project

Cutting-Edge Timber Training

This activity involved a tailored pre-employment training program aimed at meeting employer needs and providing participants a start in the timber industry. The pre-employment program includes a Certificate II in Saw Milling, and familiarisation through placement in a paid work trial in timber mills in the Maryborough area. The training was designed to attract people to the timber industry.
