Overview
The DSO is one of three industry-led Skills Organisation pilots that informed broader improvements to the national training system. The Australian Government also announced pilots in the human services care and mining sectors.
The DSO Pilot will end on 30 June 2023.
The DSO have worked closely with employers, peak bodies, governments and training providers testing innovative solutions to ensure that digital training meets the skills needs of employers and builds Australia’s digital workforce.
A range of pilot projects were undertaken including:
- a ‘Train 100 data analysts’ project that trialled a market-driven solution to rapidly train and employ data analysts, an identified skill need in the digital workforce. The project, was delivered in partnership with TAFE Qld, General Assembly and Goanna Solutions.
- a Qualification Design Trial that expanded on the 'Train 100 data analysts’ project and tested key design concepts including occupational standards and simplified training products that make better use of industry and educational expertise.
- the Cyber Security Work Integrated Learning Pilot delivered in partnership with the Canberra Cyber Hub. Co-designed with industry, it aimed to help close the skills gap between training, education and the workplace – delivering job-ready employees to employers.
