The Local Recovery Fund is available in 51 Employment Regions (regions).

The Local Recovery Fund supports locally driven activities that:

  • meet priorities identified in the region’s Local Jobs Plan
  • are tailored to the opportunities and needs identified in the region
  • address employment and training priorities; and
  • skill individuals to meet local employer demand.

Local Recovery Fund activities are usually sought via a Request for Proposal procurement process. If you are interested in developing a Local Recovery Fund proposal, contact your local Employment Facilitator.

Traffic Management Employment Project

This activity is a tailored employment pathway into the traffic management sector. Participants were reskilled and upskilled into roles by way of entry level skill sets in traffic control licences and work readiness skills, the goal being job retention. The activity delivered targeted pre-employment training to support participants into employment and traineeships with local traffic management in the Somerset Employment Region.

Train Community to Care for Community

This activity involved a customised employment pathway into the aged care and disability sector. Participants were provided with entry level skills needed to enter the workforce. The qualification was a Certificate lll in Individual Support which included 120 hours work placement with Blue Care or Centacare, mentoring, placement, and 3 months employment. The activity delivered training into employment with local disability and aged care facilities in the Brisbane South East Employment Region.

The activity involved a mobile training facility capable of delivering practical, hands on training directly to 30 regional job seekers to improve their work readiness and skill them for local jobs in the tyre and accessory fitting sector of the automotive industry. The activity aimed to deliver training to up to 30 disadvantaged young people, supporting them to complete relevant and essential practical automotive industry skills training and secure employment within the Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast Employment Region.
