The Local Recovery Fund is available in 51 Employment Regions (regions).

The Local Recovery Fund supports locally driven activities that:

  • meet priorities identified in the region’s Local Jobs Plan
  • are tailored to the opportunities and needs identified in the region
  • address employment and training priorities; and
  • skill individuals to meet local employer demand.

Local Recovery Fund activities are usually sought via a Request for Proposal procurement process. If you are interested in developing a Local Recovery Fund proposal, contact your local Employment Facilitator.

The activity also provided local employers with a pool of trained and work ready candidates.

Indigenous Employment Integration Program

The activity was delivered to support Indigenous participants with the goal for 80% of participants to complete the program, which included an employment integration program, placement with a host employer and mentoring with access to a Spiritual Healer.

Industry Advisory Network

An 8-week industry specific training program linked to identified job opportunities in civil and mining, care and support, seafood and aquaculture and the hospitality and tourism sectors. Accredited training was delivered in Port Augusta, Whyalla and Port Lincoln and participants were supported through a coaching model of support.

Mid-Murray Road to Flood Recovery

The activity utilised the tasks of flood recovery to re-engage 12 long term unemployed participants. Participants were supported in developing a pathway into stable employment within the region. It offered work supervision, mentoring, employability skills, fitness for work and a chance to connect with the community and council to build the confidence, engagement and self-motivation.
