Orora – Glass Division

Inclusion and belonging in glass manufacturing

Orora Glass Division is a state-of-the-art glassmaking facility, focused on the production and distribution of glass bottles for a diverse range of clients.

Orora Glass Division has been working towards increasing diversity in their production and warehouse facility. They want to create supportive and inclusive environment for staff. The organisation’s aim for participating in the Workforce Australia - Career Revive program was to help its leaders improve business processes and practices.

Through the Career Revive program, Orora Glass Division has:

  • accessed a network of organisations who were on a similar cultural change journey and shared lessons and insights across industries and sectors
  • received guidance to link diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives to their safety culture work. This helped them to focus clearly on identifying the behaviours and practices that have benefited or impacted their inclusive culture.

Orora Glass Division are continuing their journey towards an inclusive and safe culture. They are actively linking their diversity, equity and inclusion efforts to the values of the organisation and to their broader safety agenda ‘Switched on to Safety’.

Orora Glass Division recognise that cultural change is an ongoing process but will implement small and impactful behavioural changes to ensure their Gawler Plant is a work environment where all staff feel safe.
